Our Facebook posts are changing... slightly! From today, we will only post pictures of children from behind, or side-view. This is in response to the evolving safeguarding concerns about inappropriate online use of images of children. Over time, we will be removing historical images which don't align with this approach. 12 Likes
Year 5 had a fantastic first session participating in the Mini Police program. They donned their high-vis uniforms and developed their questioning techniques, discovering facts and gathering evidence. They also began to learn how to use the phonetic alphabet to spell their names. It was great fun and they are eagerly looking forward to the next session! 2 Likes
This week, our Year 4 class has been busy creating graphic novels as part of our English unit. The children have planned an exciting mission for their characters and mapped out the journey they take, thinking carefully about the challenges and adventures they might face along the way. They have enjoyed bringing their ideas to life through a combination of storytelling, dialogue and illustrations. 4 Likes
In Year 3, we have been looking at the adventure story, Mini Rabbit Not Lost by John Bond. This is a narrative unit where the children use the simple picture book to write their own more interesting stories. So far, the children have written descriptive settings and used powerful verbs. They have also used something called the past progressive tense, for E.g. Mini Rabbit was bounding over the jagged rocks. 6 Likes
This week Year 1 have been looking at instructions. We have learnt about command verbs and have practised using them. Using our book, 'Jasper's Beanstalk' we worked out how to tell someone what they need to do to grow a plant. In groups, we ordered instructions and then followed them to plant our own pots of cress. Now we are waiting patiently and excitedly for them to grow! 8 Likes
