Road Safety

By Nursery, in Nursery - Tuesday, 15 November 2022

Last week, we had a special visitor! Mrs Poole-Tabner came to nursery to talk to us about road safety. We now know how to cross safely. When we reach a zebra crossing we have to stop. Mrs Poole-Tabner told us that it is very important to wait with an adult. When the green light shows, it tells us that it is safe to cross. We also learnt that it is important to get off our scooters and bikes when we reach the road because It is important to walk across roads. We noticed that Mrs Poole-Tabner was wearing a very bright jacket, this is so she can be seen by the cars! Thank you Mrs Poole-Tabner for teaching us about road safety!

Thank you to all who attended our first shared reading session last Tuesday. This will continue every Tuesday from 8:30-8:45am for Acorn class and Conkers AM and 12.30- 12.45 for Conkers PM. This is a great opportunity to share a story with your child and see their classroom. We look forward to seeing more of you in the weeks to come.

Mindfulness

By Nursery, in Nursery - Monday, 31 October 2022

In Nursery, we have been learning about mindfulness. Mindfulness teaches us about our bodies, emotions and ways to keep calm. This week, we took part in animal breathing. We were snakes, rabbits, whales and lions. We also listened to the singing bowl. We had to listen very carefully, keeping our eyes closed and putting our hand up when the sound stopped. We think mindfulness is brilliant.

Green up your Act!

By Nursery, in Nursery - Friday, 10 June 2022

We were visited at Nursery by Mr Hunton from 'Green up your Act'. He ran a workshop to tell us all about the importance of keeping our planet clean and tidy. He showed us lots of recycled materials and how he had turned them into bags and purses! We were super impressed!

We then each made our very own eco fish using recycled cork and some colourful paper for the scales. We worked really hard to stick the scales into position and stick a button on for the eye. They looked fantastic!
