Climate Action Plan
At Fairlands, we are proud to be taking meaningful steps toward a more sustainable future. In line with the Department for Education’s Sustainability and Climate Change Strategy, we have developed a Climate Action Plan that reflects our commitment to environmental responsibility and education.
Our Climate Action Plan outlines how we are working to:
- Decarbonise our school operations by improving energy efficiency and reducing greenhouse gas emissions.
- Adapt and build resilience to climate change through practical measures such as improved ventilation, insulation, and flood protection.
- Enhance biodiversity by creating and maintaining green spaces that support local wildlife and nature-based learning.
- Embed climate education and green careers into our curriculum, helping pupils understand environmental issues and explore future opportunities in sustainability.
We have appointed a Sustainability Lead to champion this work, engage our school community, and monitor progress. Through this plan, we aim not only to meet national expectations but also to inspire our pupils to become thoughtful stewards of the planet.
