Top Tip 2: How much sleep?

By Miss Hodgson, Miss Brooker and Mr Tweeddell , in Year 6 - Monday, 3 October 2022

Good morning wonderful Year 6 children and happy Monday! We hope that you are ready for yet another week of fantastic learning!

We are coming to you this morning with our second top tip to support our focus: Every Day Counts! Did you know that children that are 10 or 11 years old need 9-11 hours sleep every night? This is how much sleep you should be getting in order to avoid being tired or lethargic. Children who get enough sleep can have a healthier immune system, better school performance and better mental health.

Are you getting enough sleep each night?

Check back next week for another handy top tip!

Every Day Counts!

By Miss Hodgson, Miss Brooker and Mr Tweeddell , in Year 6 - Monday, 26 September 2022

Good morning wonderful Year 6!

As we know, we have begun to focus on something really important this term: Every day counts! This is to ensure that both attendance and punctuality are at the best they can be so that you can maximise your learning time. In order to support this, each week, your Year 6 teachers will blog a tip to support either attendance or punctuality.

This week, your top tip is: setting an alarm clock!

Having an alarm clock can not only help wake you up on time in the morning but it also helps keep your sleep schedule regular. This can normalise your sleep pattern and with this regularity, you may even find that you wake up before your alarm!

Mad about metric measurements!

By Willow Class , in Year 6 - Thursday, 22 September 2022

This week, during our Maths lessons, we have been focusing on converting metric measurements. Today, we put that learning to the test as we applied our knowledge to a range of problems! We worked collaboratively in groups making sure that we all understood the learning and gave support to our peers. We are now measurement masterminds!
