The Tallest Tower

This week in PSHE, Chestnut class have been looking at how to work well with others. We were put into groups with children that we might not spend much time with and were given the challenge of building to tallest tower! We had a selection of resources to use including paper, cups, Sellotape and paper clips. First, we had time to discuss the best way to build our tower working on our skills of turn taking and listening. We then had 10 minutes to build the tallest tower. We had so much fun and the group who worked best as a team managed to build a very tall tower!

Computing

Today in Cherry class we used the laptops for the first time! We learnt how to turn them on and log on before practising our mouse skills. We practised how to move the cursor across the screen and how to drag and drop. First, we had great fun dropping pieces of puzzles together and then we worked with our partner to create a weather picture. We can't wait for our next computing lesson!

Exploring Art Through Teamwork

This week, Year 6 had a blast in their art lesson inspired by the work of Lubaina Himid, a celebrated artist known for her vibrant storytelling through art. The class was divided into pairs, with one student acting as the “interpreter” and the other as the “describer.” The twist? The interpreter couldn't look at the original artwork and had to rely entirely on their partner's descriptions to recreate the image.
