Reaching high for the best for your child

Starting Nursery

We are very proud of our Nursery setting and are sure your child will make a fantastic start to their education here.

We would love to show you around - please contact the school office on 01438 351053 or email amy.mcdonagh@fairlands.herts.sch.uk for more information and to make an appointment.

Please note that we run separate morning (8.30am-11.30am) and afternoon (12.30pm-3.30pm) sessions on a full time basis i.e. attending for half the day, all week. Your child will be allocated to either morning or afternoon class - please let us know if you have a preference and we will try to accommodate this. We do not currently offer part time places.

We also offer full day places (8.30am-3.30pm) to parents in receipt of the government's 30 hours funding.  At Fairlands we also include the lunch hour free of charge, meaning that you can get up to 35 hours of free childcare in our setting!  For more information and to find out if you are eligible visit www.childcarechoices.gov.uk

If you find that you are not eligible, but still require a 30 hour nursery place, we offer the option for you to pay for the extra 15 hours per week.  This is presently a cost of £5.77 per hour (£86.55 per week) you will be invoiced fortnightly in advance.

Nursery admissions are managed by the school.  Applications may be sent in using our application form below (or paper copies are available from the school office).

We are now also accepting applications for September 2025.
