For Your Information
The summer holidays will finally be here at 215pm on Tuesday 23rd July and hopefully the sun will make an extended appearance too!

There are lots of things available to families throughout the summer and we have displayed this information on the noticeboards in the alleyway between the main gates to both sites. We have listed activities to do, cheap or free places for children to eat and information about courses happening for families supporting children with additional needs. Don't forget to take a photo when you are collecting your child at the end of the day!

We are aware that the holidays are not always easy as normal routine and everyday life is suddenly changed (and that's for children too, not just us adults!). If you are finding it challenging, then please visit our website page which lists the support agencies available: Signposts to support home adults

We hope you all have an enjoyable break and can't wait to see you back on Wednesday 4th September for another exciting year ahead!
Our School Head's Welcome

Welcome from the Headship Team

On behalf of the staff, governors, and children of Fairlands Primary School, we would like to welcome you to our friendly, inclusive, and successful school.

Fairlands is a large, three-form entry primary school, with the capacity for up to 720 children aged 3 - 11 years old, situated on the borders of the Old Town in Stevenage. Although we are a large school, we know how important it is for every child to be known and valued as an individual as they journey all the way with us from pre-school experiences through to Year 6. We want every child to be successful; to reach for success from the very first day they join us and as they move through the key stages of their early education, so that when they leave us, they do so with a positive view of learning for the rest of their lives, having made a large number of friends and happy memories along the way!

We believe great learning should be a rewarding and enjoyable experience for everyone. Our commitment to great teaching aims to equip your child with the knowledge, skills and vocabulary necessary to be ready for the next stage in their education and a fulfilled life beyond school. In particular, great reading is at the heart of our curriculum because it unlocks access to life-long learning.

Our motto 'Reaching High' touches everything we do as a school. We are deeply aware that children only get one chance at their primary education and it is our job to ensure that they all reach for the highest levels of personal achievement and development.

This includes welcoming all children from a wide range of families and cultural backgrounds, and children with a range of special educational needs, who we celebrate as a valuable part of our rich and diverse school community.

We are a strongly community-focused school, placing a high priority on nurturing positive links with our parents and carers - when families join Fairlands, they soon find themselves getting regularly involved in many ways!

As a fully 'extended' school, we provide access to high-quality childcare, 8am–6pm, five days a week, combined with a varied menu of clubs & activities which enhance achievement and broaden interests. We are extremely fortunate to have wonderful grounds and facilities at Fairlands, which are fully open for community access. We take pride in our learning environment and when you come in you will find a calm, well-organised and purposeful atmosphere.

If you are considering enrolling your child at our school, please do feel free to make an appointment and one of the headship team will be delighted to show you around personally.

Similarly, should you ever wish to discuss any aspect of the school with us, please do not hesitate to get in touch.
