Reaching high for the best for your child

Community Parents

Parenting support and Family Learning

At Fairlands, we believe that our aims and goals can only be achieved if parents are involved and supported.

We offer a range of services for parents, including opportunities for parenting advice and family learning, which allow you to learn together as a family.

Family Lives

Family Lives is a national charity providing help and support in all aspects of family life. We're here for you 24 hours a day, seven days a week through our free Parentline. Whatever your family role or situation, we can help.

We know that parents want to do the best they can for their children, but sometimes family life can be challenging and difficult. There is after all, no one right way to parent. Family Lives works to offer help and support through an innovative range of free, flexible, responsive services - shaped by parents for parents.

Fairlands has a strong partnership with Family Lives. You can contact Family Lives anonymously on 0808 800 2222. They also have an excellent website www.familylives.org.uk.

Parent & Family Learning

Finding it hard to help your child with their homework?

Confused about the new ways we teach sums and phonics?

Don't worry - you aren't the only one! We hold regular workshops for parents/carers and their children, to come and find out more about a particular aspect of learning.

Take a look at our Parent Learning Map to get a feel for what will be on offer.

Parent Forum

The headteacher welcomes parents/carers to a monthly 'Parent Forum', where parent representatives from each year group are invited to come along and discuss the life and work of the school.

There is usually an agenda of items prepared by the school, but always ample opportunity for parents to raise any issues and contribute ideas to make Fairlands an even better place for our children.

Please check the calendar for the date and agenda of the next meeting.
