Train and Track Play Session - Booking Information

We are excited to announce that Track Play UK will be joining us for the stay and play day on Wednesday 31st May. Children from 2-6 years, who will be joining us in September or are hoping to secure a Nursery or Reception place at Fairlands Primary School, are invited to book this session. Mrs Sembi (Deputy Headteacher of the Lower Site) and Amy McDonagh (Admissions Administrator) will be available to support with new Nursery applications or answer any questions. 

Parents will need to remain with their child for the duration of the session. Please arrive 5 minutes prior to your session starting. Sessions will take place on the Lower Site, in the school hall. Please note there will be a small charge for this session, as this will be organised by an external provider.

Family Yoga, led by Mrs Toll

Come and enjoy this free class based around meditation and yoga that is fun for you and your pre-school (or nursery child!). This session is aimed at children from 2-4 years. 

Play games, tell stories and enjoy this fun and relaxing session with your little one. 

No experience necessary, just wear comfortable clothing and please note, parents will be encouraged to join in with their child. 

At the end of the session, Mrs Sembi (Deputy Headteacher of the Lower School) and Miss McDonagh (Admissions Administrator) will be available to answer any questions and support with admissions enquiries.

Interactive Story and Play session, led by Mrs Toll

On Wednesday 31st May, Mrs Toll will be delivering an interactive 'Story and Play' session in the Reception classroom. The story session will take place at 11.15am. 

Mrs Toll will be reading an interactive story, this will be followed by an opportunity to take part in a range of activities in Reception, exploring both the indoor and outdoor learning environment. Please note that parents will need to remain with their child for the duration of the session. 

This session is aimed at children who are 3-4 years old, who will be attending Reception at Fairlands from September 2023. There will be an opportunity to explore the Reception setting and ask questions or discuss any concerns with Mrs Sembi (Deputy Headteacher of the Lower Site).

Interactive Story and Play Session, led by Miss Kavanagh

On Wednesday 31st May, Miss Kavanagh (current Nursery teacher) will be delivering an interactive 'Story and Play' session in the school Nursery. Story sessions will take place at 10.15am, 11.15am and 1.30pm. 

Miss Kavanagh will be reading 'We're Going on a Bear Hunt' by Michael Rosen, this will be followed by an opportunity to take part in a range of multi-sensory activities to retell the much-loved story. 

Our sessions are aimed at children who are 2-3 year old, who will be attending Nursery from September 2023. There will be an opportunity to explore the Nursery setting and find out more about securing a Nursery place and transition. If you have not already secured a Nursery place, Mrs Sembi (Deputy Headteacher of the Lower School) and Amy McDonagh (Admissions Administrator) will be available to answer questions and support with new applications.

Reception Admissions 2023

Monday 17th April is an exciting day for many of you, finding out where your child will begin their full-time school journey. 

We would like to invite all prospective parents to tour our classrooms, meet our teachers and discover our exciting curriculum in our inclusive and welcoming environment. We will be hosting an open evening on Wednesday 19th April from 4pm - 6pm. No bookings are required, please arrive anytime during this time slot. 

Additionally, we will be offering Early Years tours on Thursday 27th April at 9.15am, 2pm and 3.45pm. Please note spaces on the additional tours are extremely limited, you can book by contacting Amy.McDonagh@fairlands.herts.sch.uk 

Finally, please note Monday 1st May is the final day to accept your child's Reception place, you can do this through the Hertfordshire admissions website.

Once you have accepted your place, we will be sharing more information about upcoming Stay and Play sessions to aid transition, on Wednesday 31st May. Stay and play sessions will include Train and Track Play sessions, Family Yoga and Interactive Story and Play sessions.
