Easter fun in Nursery

It has been a fun filled and busy end of term in Nursery. The children decorated 'nature eggs' in our outside area, collecting grass, sticks, daisies and leaves to decorate their eggs. They also made Easter cards, tearing yellow tissue paper to make their Easter chick. The children rounded off the term by working together to make Easter nest cakes, melting chocolate and mixing in rice crispies. Yummy!

Easter Activity Morning

Dear Parent/Carer,

In order to ensure that your child is ready for their SATs tests in May, we will be holding two activity mornings over the Easter holidays. These will be held on Monday 8th April 2024 and Tuesday 9th April 2024 at school in the Year 2/3 building. These sessions will be run by the Year 6 teachers and they will run from 9am until 12pm. Lunch will not be provided but juice and a snack will be available. All children are invited and encouraged to join in, no matter what level they are working at.

Exciting end of term

Laburnum have had an exciting end to the Spring Term!

Earlier in the week we invited our adults to join us for a Rise of the Robots activity afternoon. We tried to recreate robot art, construct robotic figures and make a moving vehicle. It was definitely an afternoon where we showed off our skills and continued to practise our growth mindset when the construction was a bit tricky.

All Around the World

This term our topic has been All Around the World

we had a fantastic time learning about the different continents. I am sure you have heard our special continents song at home too!

WOW DAY!

Year 5 have had a fantastic wow day today! We all gathered in the hall to find out that we were going to be making bridges, as part of our 'Raging Rivers' topic. We had to use a lot of lollipop sticks in order to build the structure for our bridges. We then sketched out and painted a landscape that included a river to put our bridges on. At lunch time, we gathered materials to put on our landscapes to further enhance the 3D effect. All adults were really impressed with our resilience and determination throughout the day and we all really enjoyed it. We can't wait to take our masterpieces home with us tomorrow!

Ramadan Wow Day

Yesterday we had a lovely day in Nursery learning about Ramadan and Eid. We were very lucky to have two parents and one of our lunchtime supervisors come in to talk to the children about what our Muslim families do during Ramadan and how they celebrate Eid. We learned:
