This week, Year 6 had a blast in their art lesson inspired by the work of Lubaina Himid, a celebrated artist known for her vibrant storytelling through art. The class was divided into pairs, with one student acting as the “interpreter” and the other as the “describer.” The twist? The interpreter couldn’t look at the original artwork and had to rely entirely on their partner’s descriptions to recreate the image.
The activity was a fantastic exercise in communication, listening, and creativity. Students had to be clear and detailed in their descriptions, while their partners practised patience and interpretation skills.
