Today we had a special delivery from a little bee friend- some packets of seeds! First we looked closely at the packets and the children noticed numbers that showed the price as well as little calendars on the back that tells us when in the year to plant them. We also compared packets and realised not all sunflowers are the same- the children particularly enjoyed that there are a type called 'teddy bear' sunflowers, which look much fluffier than the others! After this we opened the packets and looked closely at the seeds, using words like longer, pointy and stripy to talk about their colours, shapes and sizes.
