Prehistoric art

By Hornbeam , in Year 3 - Monday, 7 July 2025

Hornbeam had a fabulous afternoon creating a prehistoric cave wall in our art lesson this afternoon.

First of all we collected natural objects from our outside area and used these to create a prehistoric palette. We used leaves, bark, berries and flowers.

Then we created our own paint using a mix of water and flour. We created pigments of colour by adding spices.

Finally, we used coarse materials to create a textured 'cave wall'. Pva glue helped the seeds, rice, lentils and flour stick to our card.

We are so excited to add an animal to our wall next week.
