Our last writing unit before we break up for Christmas has been cinquain poems - something that we have absolutely loved writing! Our final piece is a poem all about World War 1. We spent some lessons building up vocabulary and then we had to ensure that these phrases adhered to the strict syllable rules for cinquain poems: 2, 4, 6, 8, 2. We then had to write our poems in that classic diamond shape. Here are some of our finished pieces!
