We are really proud to announce that we have just been awarded the Primary Science Quality Mark. Well done to our Science Leaders, Miss Free & Mrs Mclean, for all their hard work on this!
The Primary Science Quality Mark celebrates a school's commitment to excellence in science leadership, teaching and learning. PSQM is a comprehensive evidence-based professional development programme that effectively develops science leadership, ensuring teachers have the knowledge, capability and support they need to transform science education and shape future generations.
The Primary Science Quality Mark is led by the University of Hertfordshire. Helen Sizer, PSQM Co-Director said: ‘By enabling effective science leadership, PSQM is powering the potential of all children to see the relevance and importance of science in their lives, now and in the future. Schools that have achieved a Primary Science Quality Mark have demonstrated a significant commitment to science leadership, teaching and learning and the profile and quality of science in each accredited school is very high. Science subject leaders, their colleagues, headteachers, children, parents and governors should be very proud.”
All set for a brand new year at Fairlands! Thank you to all the staff who have been working hard over the summer to get everything ready for the children to return to school today. We are all excited about the year ahead!
Another great year at Fairlands comes to a close. The last day of term will be on Tuesday 23rd July at 2.15pm.
Well done to all the parents, staff and of course, our amazing children!
Have a great, safe summer and we will see you back in September.
This month, we will be talking about the value of Happiness!
We will be asking the children what makes them happy, and to think of ways to share happiness with others.
What's on your list of things which makes you happy? :0)
Looking for fun activities to do with the children this half term?
Take a look at our leaflet with loads of great ideas which won't cost the Earth!
This term, we have introduced a new, simpler way for the children to remember our school rules.

We have talked about what each word means and Miss Shields has taught us how to sign them using British Sign Language.
We will all use these as positive reminders of the right behaviour choices to make.
