Our Value for the month of January is... COURAGE!

We will be thinking about showing that we can be EVERYDAY HEROES by:

• being an ‘everyday hero’
• finding the hero inside ourselves: what makes you a superhero?
• standing up for what we believe in, even it makes us unpopular: being an UPSTANDER!

We have talked in assembly about all the everyday heroes who help us, including our wonderful teachers and teaching assistants!

Happy New Year to everyone at Fairlands - we are looking forward to seeing all the children back on Thursday 6th January at the normal time!

Please remember to wear a face covering when dropping off and collecting children. 

Wishing you all a wonderful Christmas holiday, whatever your faith and whatever we all end up doing on Christmas Day!

We have had an amazing time going to see Aladdin yesterday and today at the Gordon Craig!

It has been two years since we were last all able to go, and for many of the children in Nursery and Reception it was their first time ever at a theatre! They did so well!

The panto was full of excitement and surprises and we had a great time dancing, signing and clapping along. 

The children were brilliantly behaved and were a real credit to the school, as always. 

Thank you to the staff and parents for supporting the trip... it really is such an important part of the Fairlands' calendar. 

Today, in our values assembly, we continued looking at our value of Democracy. 

We listened to the story of 'Grace for President' and talked about standing up for ourselves and what we believe in. 

During the month of December, we will be thinking about the value of Democracy. 

We will talk about:

• everybody has a right to an equal vote
• standing up for yourself
• standing up for others
• accepting the results are fair, even if we lose out

Our school council will be helping us to see democracy in action!
