It is time to find the TOMATO!

Monday, 21 March 2022

We are doing a great job keeping these Vegetables under control...we have defeated Carrots, Peppers and Broccoli so far!

Now we have the tricky job of spotting the TOMATO... the sneaky fruit that often comes in disguise as a vegetable!

You can do this! #EatThemToDefeatThem

Eat Them To Defeat Them... BROCCOLI!

Monday, 14 March 2022

This week, we need to eat BROCCOLI to show our full super hero powers!

There will be delicious broccoli-based options in our school dinners this week, including broccoli-slaw (a type of coleslaw!); broccoli and potato cake; and broccoli & chocolate brownie!

If your child has packed lunches, please include some broccoli in there... for ideas you can head over to 20 HEALTHY BROCCOLI RECIPES!

Thank you Stevenage FC Foundation!

Wednesday, 9 March 2022

We received a fantastic surprise delivery today – a box of brand new, beautiful books! They were gifted to us from our fantastic friends at Stevenage FC Foundation and we are so grateful to them.

The books have already been stamped and are ready to be added to our wonderful library by the year 6 librarians tomorrow. Part of the delivery included 15 poetry books all based around football and diversity (called ‘Beautifully different, wonderfully the same’) and it is a wonderful anthology of poems which will make us all think. We are going to add this to our collection of Guided Reading books so the whole school can enjoy them and use them to aid our discussions and thoughts about diversity.

A huge thank you to Stevenage FC Foundation for this hugely appreciated gift!

Showing respect!

Monday, 28 February 2022

Our Value for the month of March is... Respect!

In assemblies, in class and at home, we will all be thinking about how:

  • respect has to be earned
  • our talents are a gift that should be respected
  • we should treat our bodies and minds with respect

Get cycling!

Friday, 11 February 2022

A great way to get active, enjoy the fresh air and help the planet is cycling. It is a fun activity which the whole family can be involved in and is a super skill for children to learn. We have been made aware of some fantastic biking courses being held over half term by the Stevenage Cycling Hub. Here is an overview but please visit the website for further information.

https://stevenagecyclinghub.co.uk/pages/training/children

Beginner Biking courses will free your child from their stabilisers and get them riding on two wheels. A one-hour session for £10.

Bikeability courses are for children that can already ride a bike. Children will enjoy learning the skills and developing the confidence to ride their bikes on today’s roads.

These courses are run in conjunction with the Herts County Council Cycle Training Team and will be led by their National Standards Bikeability instructors.

We would love to hear how your child gets on if they attend any of them!

Everyday Heroes!

Thursday, 6 January 2022

Our Value for the month of January is... COURAGE!

We will be thinking about showing that we can be EVERYDAY HEROES by:

  • being an ‘everyday hero’
  • finding the hero inside ourselves: what makes you a superhero?
  • standing up for what we believe in, even it makes us unpopular: being an UPSTANDER!

We have talked in assembly about all the everyday heroes who help us, including our wonderful teachers and teaching assistants!
