January's value is Cooperation! Please find some time to talk at home about what it means to cooperate with each other! Last week, in assembly, we decided it was:
• Working together to get something done.
• Talking and agreeing how to do something.
• Being helpful and doing your bit to sort something out.
I am sure some of you are starting to look forward to planning your holidays, now that Christmas is all finished! Please take a look here for the latest Term Dates 2015 - 2016. Please remember that we do not authorise the taking of holidays during term time.
Happy New Year and Welcome Back to everyone! We hope you have had a peaceful and restful Christmas break.
It's that time of year again! You may remember that last year, Fairlands came second in the annual Holy Trinity Christmas Tree Festival with our space age entry.
This year, we are linking our entry to the work we have been doing on Unity and being part of the United Kingdom! The Foundation Stage children have been working hard transforming a pile of toilet roll middles into a patriotic, red, white and blue celebration of our diverse nation!
'It is is our similarities which unite us, but our differences which make us great!'
Now it is over to you... please nip down to Holy Trinity to see the church filled with Christmas Trees from all around our community - and whilst you are there, please VOTE FOR FAIRLANDS!
This month, our value is Unity. We will be thinking specifically about what it means to live in the United Kingdom and thinking of all the things which make Britain Great!
The Department for Education has recently given guidance to all schools on developing approaches to promoting the British Values of democracy, the rule of law, individual liberty, mutual respect and tolerance of those with different faiths and beliefs.
These values are woven throughout our Values Education approach - please take a look at our Policy to find out more!
Please take a look at our latest report explaining how we will be spending our Pupil Premium Grant over 2014-2015.
You can find an explanation of pupil premium and the report here.
