Today year 3 had a visitor, he was born in 1944 and knew all about life after World War 2. He described his early life and we were able to make lots of comparisons between then and now! 

For example, in our classroom we have lots of lovely resources and get to share our ideas. When Richard was at school he was taught by nuns who were very strict and there were punishments for those who misbehaved. He also told us all about his adventures playing outside with his friends because they didn't have lots of toys they had to make their own fun and use their imagination! 

We were most surprised to hear that he only ate sweets on special occasions such as his birthday or at Christmas because you couldn't get sweets at the market and they were very expensive!
